2B FermControl offers solutions for sustainable, minimalist winemaking and specializes in the development of multifunctional active yeasts, yeast supplements and yeast derivatives in certified organic quality as well as BSA starter cultures.

2B is independent of major manufacturers and only offers products from its own research and development. We only use certified organic raw materials for production without compromising on functionality and safety in use. This clearly sets 2B solutions apart from conventional products for additive winemaking – in line with the motto: less is more!

A legacy of innovation

The history of 2B FermControl

In 2003, Dipl.-Ing. Oen. (FH) Carsten Heinemeyer laid the foundation stone for 2B FermControl – with a vision that would have a lasting impact on the wine industry. As a pioneer of minimalist winemaking, he firmly believed in the power of nature and set new standards for sustainable, quality-oriented production.

His career began with an apprenticeship as a cooper in Breisach, followed by a degree in viticulture and oenology at the renowned Geisenheim University of Applied Sciences (1992-1998). Before founding 2B, he gained valuable experience in the international wine industry – as Marketing Manager for wine, fruit juices and spirits and as R&D Application Manager.

Carsten Heinemeyer’s tireless innovation and his pursuit of natural, sustainable solutions led to the development of unique oenological products. Until his sudden death in December 2023, he was the driving force behind 2B. His deep understanding of wine, his creative research and his global network made him an outstanding personality in the industry.

His legacy lives on: the dedicated team at 2B continues to pursue his vision and develop innovative solutions that reflect his philosophy. In close cooperation with international partners, 2B implements the sustainable approach to winemaking worldwide – in line with the guiding principle: less is more.
